Inheritance & Finance

Can a Muslim inherit from a non-Muslim, or leave inheritance to non-Muslim family?

The hadith about Muslims and kafirs not inheriting from each other applies only to the Quran-mandated inheritance shares (fara'id), not to wills. Up to one-third of one's estate can always be given via will to anyone, including non-Muslims. A convert with no Muslim family in a Western country may direct their entire estate to non-Muslim relatives and may freely accept money left to them in a non-Muslim parent's will.
