Did the Prophet ﷺ see Allah during Isra wal-Miraj?
The majority of scholars hold that the Prophet (SAW) did not see Allah physically during Isra wal-Miraj. Aisha (RA) explicitly stated the Surah al-Najm passages refer to Jibreel. The Prophet did see Allah in a true dream (Tirmidhi/Ahmad). Believers will see Allah in Jannah — this is definitive Sunni doctrine.
Belief & TheologyAre all actions of the Prophet ﷺ binding upon Muslims, or only some?
The Prophet's actions fall into three categories: religious rituals (fully binding), cultural habits of his time and place (not binding), and a gray area. His dress, cuisine, transportation, and architecture are not legislatively Sunnah. The real Sunnah of dress is to dress like your own people, which is what the Prophet himself did.
Belief & TheologyIs the term 'Sunni Islam' divisive? Why not just say 'Islam'?
The term 'Sunni Islam' is not divisive in itself — it is descriptive. Different understandings of Islam have existed since the Companions. The term Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah is derived from authentic hadith and was first used by Ibn Abbas (RA). Misuse does not negate validity. The goal is to educate, not to declare others kafir.
Belief & TheologyIs Einstein's theory of relativity (E=mc²) incompatible with Islam?
There is nothing wrong with Einstein's theory of relativity from an Islamic standpoint. Science and the Quran cannot genuinely conflict because both are from Allah. The only caveat: Allah can override the laws of physics — which is what a miracle is.
Belief & TheologyIs it permissible to carry a small Quran in your wallet or car for protection and blessings?
Carrying a physical Quran for baraka is not shirk and not haram — the Quran is the speech of Allah. There is a classical scholarly disagreement from the Companions on this. Yasir Qadhi personally leans toward active recitation being superior, but will not criticize those who keep a mushaf for protection.
